AQWorlds Trade Skills - Alchemy

Alchemy Skills

Tips:
1. How To Alchemy:
     a. Pick a runestone, to determine how powerful your result it.
     b. Select 2 reagents, to determine what kind of result you might get. (If you don't feel like experimenting, ask Alina to help you mix the potion you want).
     c. Your Goal is to fill up the Alchemy Bottle.
     d. Your runestone must be heated to fill the Alchemy Bottle.
     e. Blast the runestone A LOT with Fire to heat it up. Fireballs don't always hit the runestone. Stop Blast when the temperature counter reach more than 80, and blast again if the temperature counter below 80.
     f. Mixing stops if the temperature is NOT in the green "hot spot".
     g. Mixing also stops when the lights below the Runestone are red.
     h. Keep all three lights green under the Runestone to mix faster!
     i. If you runestone over-heats, it will break and you must Start Over! Dragon Runes never break!
     j. Blast the runestone with Ice to cool it off!
     k. Ice does NOT recharge! Fire DOES recharge!
2. To gain Alchemy Reputation, you can do Alchemy.

TALK TO ALINA (Battle PotionMistress)

Code Location: alchemyacademy

Intro: Have you found some alchemy reagents? Lim and I have created the Magidomifier. Using a magical runestone, placed in the center of the device we can extract magical properties from reagents to make powerful potions, tonics and elixirs. I have plenty of standard runestones but if you want the best results you can buy Dragon Runestones at the Magidomifier.

[POTIONS, TONICS AND ELIXIRS?] Potions have short durations and are best used while in combat. You can mix potions to restore Health or Mana. Some difficult to mix potions can even directly effect how much damage you can take or dish out.

Tonics have a long duration and are best used BEFORE you engage in combat. Tonics are very powerful because they increase your core stats like Strength, Intellect or Dexterity. Keep in mind, only one tonic can effect you at a time. Using one after another will replace the effect.

Elixirs have long duration like tonics and are also best used BEFORE you engage in combat. Elixirs have a large array of effect from directly increasing how much you heal or how poweful a critical hit can be. Similar to tonics, you can only have one elixir in effect at a time.

Components are used as reagents in crafting trade skills. Components generally result from mixing with lower level runestones. There is a rumor that the most powerful reagent cannot be found but must be crafted with the Magidomifier.

Well it's mostly just theory but it's thought that one could create a pure Chaos Entity, which would be capable of producing the strongest potions but I've never been successful at it. If you manage to make some please submit it to Lim for research.

[WHAT ARE REAGENTS?] You can find reagents, or ingredients, all over Lore. They are generally found on monsters. Some reagents are synthetic, meaning they must be made by combining other ingredients. I also have some in stock that I don't mind trading for. Also be sure to check Lim's Alchemicia Pharmacopeia for some bacis reagent properties and hints on where to find them. It's just inside.

TALK TO LIM (Mad Scientist)

Code Location: alchemyacademy

Intro: Ah, my assistant is here. Once again I have recalibrated the Chemicotron for the most accurate results. It's just through that door there, now see to your duties.

[I'M NOT YOUR ASSISTANT] Don't play games with me, last time you... or was that... didn't you come by after the... This has nothing to do with Lemurphant Tears!

[ACTUALLY, I AM HERE TO HELP] What is it this time? And you'd better have a doctor's note.

Ah, you want to know how the research is going? Every mixture using the Chemicotron brings me closer to finishing my world changing project, the Alchemicia Pharmacopeia. Soon all of Lore will know that magic is irrelevant and all things and their properties are scientifically explained to produce a defined result!

[ALCHEMICIA PHARMACOPEIA?] It is the product of my scientific method. A documentation of the effects of the commonly used alchemcial reagents. These fools accept the notion that reagents are naturally magical and this is why they can create potions, tonics or elixirs. I am developing proof that it is the reagent's core properties that define what we get from using it!

Think about the progress we could make without the notion of "Magic" holding us back! If you were to aid me in my research by returning to me with any "Scientific" data you acquire while using Chemicotron, I will award you with Academy Merits.

[SCIENTIFIC METHOD?] Well, you see, the way we find facts and prove they are true is through the use of The Scientific Method. In each experiment we only change one thing from the first experiment and then we document the differences. Analysing the data we can understand the properties of each reagent. It should be called Lim's Method... the Lim-ethod... Lim Process.

[CHEMICOTRON?] The Chemicotron is a sophisticated machine developed by yours truly. It is capable of combining almost any two reagents into a powerful solution. The only reason the results are random is because ALINE insists we power it with "magic" runestones. After I collect enough data, the runestones will be unnecessary!

The trick to using the Chemicotron is to heat your mixture in bursts, allowing a longer amount of time for the runestone to cool off after being heated. If that frail runestone is getting close to breaking, use an ice blast. That's the best tip I can give you until I develop a better heating and cooling system for the Chemicotron.
